By creating an account or using iTárók, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the iTárók language learning application and all associated services (collectively, the "Service"). By registering an account you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

iTárók provides interactive lessons, flashcards, quizzes, folktales, and an AI-powered tutor to help users learn the Tarok language (iTárók / Yergam). Vocabulary and linguistic data are sourced from authoritative publications including Longtau & Blench (2007) and Longtau (2008).

3. USER ACCOUNTS

When you create an account you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and current information.
  • Keep your password secure and not share it with others.
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. ACCEPTABLE USE

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Use the Service to harass, harm, or impersonate others.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the app's content or source code without permission.
  • Use automated tools to create accounts or access the Service at scale.
  • Introduce viruses, malware, or any harmful code.
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The iTárók app, its design, code, and original content are owned by us or our licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Tarok linguistic data referenced in this app originates from published academic works. We do not claim ownership of the Tarok language itself, which belongs to its speakers and communities.

6. AI TUTOR (MIRI)

The in-app AI tutor ("Miri") is powered by a third-party large language model. Responses are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate. Do not rely solely on AI-generated content for academic or professional linguistic purposes. Always cross-reference with verified sources.

7. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that all vocabulary is perfectly accurate without native speaker review.

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. TERMINATION

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon termination, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. CHANGES TO TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal proceedings.
